What is j5mc?
j5mc is a project to address the issues of the day from a polite, progressive standpoint, and highlight political and economic issues in North Dakota and the region.
But j5mc isn’t really about navel-gazing; it’s about advocating responsibility and change, to make our state a better place to live; a place that our young people can afford to stay in.
North Dakota is a state with vast untapped potential – j5mc wants to explore the opportunities for the future, as well as addressing current problems.
But what is “j5mc”?
A old nickname for Johnathan cooked up by hip-hop fans, and a conveniently small URL for a blog, wouldn’t you say?
Who writes j5mc?
Johnathan McClure is a student from Minot, North Dakota currently attending the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, with a major in Electrical Engineering. You can contact Johnathan through the blog, or by e-mail — j5mc [(a)] j5mc.org.
If you would like to contribute a post yourself, please inquire by e-mail. j5mc posts are typically shorter than 300 words.
What are your terms for copying your blog?
j5mc is licenced under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike licence. This allows reuse of text for most common purposes. Images may or may not be licenced similarly; check the description page (by clicking the image).
What is that flower on your header?
The flower depicted is Rosa arkansana, the Wild Prairie Rose. It’s our state flower. TheĀ geometric version you see is a poor simulacrum, but the Wikipedia article has a very nice real-life image.
How busy is Johnathan at the moment?
Very.
